The log splitter is ideal for professionals and individuals because it is capable of splitting any log along its length, a garden machine that can be electric or thermal, vertical or horizontal. The splitter replaces the axe and wood cutting tools, necessary for anyone who has an insert, a fireplace or a stove.
The electric log splitter is particularly interesting because it is not noisy or polluting. The thermal log splitter is, for its part, more powerful and therefore capable of splitting logs of larger diameter. These models are often used by professionals.
The horizontal log splitter is very practical because you can place the log directly on it, its disadvantage is the fact of not being able to split logs of large dimensions that the vertical splitter will be able to split. It will be ideal for logs not exceeding 50 cm in length and its splitting power varies between 4 and 6 tons.
The vertical log splitter will split logs up to more than a meter in length. It generally has a support shelf adjustable to different heights depending on the length of the log to be split to always bring it as close as possible to the splitting wedge and avoid the machine having to make a long unnecessary stroke of the cylinder.
The choice of the splitter is therefore made according to its energy, the power of its engine and the size of the logs.
The new 2018 standards have forced manufacturers to add additional safety features to garden machines such as log splitters in particular. Our log splitters therefore benefit from the new standards giving more safety to the user by blocking and protecting the log on its support. For horizontal splitters, a protective cage is installed above the wood so that once split thanks to the splitting wedge, the wood cannot fall back or injure the user. For vertical log splitters, side guards are installed to also hold the split wood without the risk of falling and injury.
