CS 561 fiber discs for steel and non-ferrous metals have excellent material removal values. The synthetic resin bond makes this product sturdy, durable and durable. This abrasive disc consists of a support based on composite material having several layers of thick paper with a dense corundum powder grain. The bonding of the grains to the support is ensured by a synthetic resin-based glue.

Using CS 561 fiber disks

CS 561 fiber discs are used on angle grinders. Thanks to the bandwidth in the available grain sizes, the CS 561 abrasive disc is versatile. In medium and fine particle sizes, significant material removal is ensured on steel and non-ferrous metals. With a coarser grain size, the CS 561 disc can even be used on wood or plastic. The solid construction allows working at very high speeds.

The grinding aspect depends on the backing plate

By choosing a suitable backing pad, the grinding appearance can be significantly influenced. In principle, two types of support plates are available:

• ST 358 support plate flexible and smooth
• support plate ST 358 A hard and ribbed

The soft backing pad is suitable for a regular grinding appearance and adapts flexibly to the contours of the workpiece. It is perfectly suited for surface finishing, contour grinding, as well as for rounding edges. When coarse grinding work requiring significant material removal has to be carried out, the CS 561 disc is used on hard backing pads. The hard backing plate is ideal for deburring work and for breaking edges.
