The FS 764 ACT from Klingspor is a fiber disc intended for use on steel and stainless steel. The fiber disc allows grinding work with high material removal performance. The abrasive is corundum. The bonding with Klingspor's special ACT recipe results in high grain adhesion, which, in combination with the vulcanized fiber backing, results in a particularly durable abrasive. Advantages are :

Coarse and aggressive grinding jobs with the FS 764 ACT fiber disc

The robust combination of backing, bonding and grain size enables aggressive metal grinding, for derusting metal parts, rough grinding work, machining weld beads and deburring work . In order not to exceed the maximum admissible speed of 80 meters per second, specified maximum rotation speeds must be respected depending on the diameter of the disc and/or the support plate:

• 13,300 revolutions per minute for a diameter of 115 mm
• 12,200 revolutions per minute for a diameter of 125 mm
• 8,500 revolutions per minute for a diameter of 180 mm

Using the FS 764 ACT fiber disk

The FS 764 ACT fiber disc is available in grain sizes ranging from very coarse to fine. Thus, the FS 764 ACT fiber disc is particularly intended for significant material removal and aggressive grinding work.

The desired grinding appearance is significantly influenced by the backing plate used.

Two fiber disc supports are offered in the Klingspor range: the soft and smooth ST 358 support plate, as well as the hard and ribbed ST 358 A support plate. Depending on the support plate used, the ground appearance is decisively influenced. The soft backing pad is recommended for an even grinding appearance, such as for rounding edges or for finer surface grinding on metal. The hard, ribbed backing pad is used for coarse and aggressive grinding work, for example for breaking edges or for rough deburring work.
